Why Should You Visit the Sundarbans (1 Night, 2 Days)?
Sundarbans is created at the merger of Meghna and Ganges rivers and the mangrove forests are known world over. It also has a lot of biodiversity having 453 wildlife species, 290 species of birds, 120 species of fish, 42 mammals, 35 reptiles, and 8 amphibians.
The region is characterized by two primary ecosystems (namely, the freshwater swamp forests and mangrove forests). It is a tiger and a biosphere reserve, with core and buffer zones. There are 5 buffer areas and 2 core areas watchtowers which visitors get to explore. The Bhagwatpur Crocodile Project, the Sajnekhali Bird Sanctuary are the attractions here.

Day 1 – Arrival & Local Exploration
- 07:30 AM – Pickup from Kolkata
- 08:30 AM – Pickup from Canning
- 09:30 AM – Pickup from Godkhali
- 10:00 AM – Exclusive boat transfer from Godkhali to the resort through the scenic Hogol, Gomar, and Durgaduni Rivers (approx. 2.5 hours).
- En route, explore Gosaba, visit the historic Hamilton Saheb Bungalow and Beacon Bungalow (Rabindranath Tagore Bungalow).
- Birdwatching at Birds Jungle and enjoy the tranquil beauty of Pakhiralaya (Dayapur).
- 01:30 PM – Lunch on the boat, followed by resort check-in and relaxation.
- 04:00 PM – Visit Birds Jungle.
- 06:00 PM – Return to resort.
- 07:00 PM – Evening tribal dance with snacks and tea.
- 09:00 PM – Dinner & overnight stay.
Day 2 – Full-Day Jungle Safari
- 06:30 AM – Bed tea.
- 07:00 AM – Departure for full-day jungle safari by motorboat.
- 08:30 AM – Breakfast on the boat.

- Sajnekhali Watchtower (Bonobibi Temple, Mangrove Interpretation Center)
- Sudhanyakhali Watchtower (chance to spot Royal Bengal Tiger & other wildlife)
- Panchamukhi
- 12:00 PM – Lunch on the boat.
- 03:00 PM – Visit Dobanki Watchtower (canopy walk, spotted deer rehabilitation center), then Gosaba.
- Explore Bird Forest (পাখির জঙ্গল) before returning.
- 05:00 PM – Return to Godkhali.
- 06:00 PM – Drop-off at Canning.
- 07:30 PM – Drop-off at Kolkata.
